Ribbons License Agreement page 1 of 3 The "ribbons" software distribution package (the software) for general molecular illustration and for error analysis in protein crystallography is copyrighted 1987-1997 by Mike Carson (the author) and licensed through the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Center for Macromolecular Crystallography (CMC). The CMC's NASA grant encourages the commercialization of our work. Thus we are selling the program. The copyrighted software is furnished under a license and may be used or copied only in accordance with the terms and fee schedule below: 1. All rights reserved. No part of this work may be reproduced in any form or by any means or used to make a derivative work (translation, transformation, or adaption) without the written permission of the author. Copies may be made only for backup purposes. 2. This is a single-site license. Those wishing to obtain a multi-site license should contact the author for terms. The program is to be used solely at the licensee's premises. For an academic license, the program will only be used for academic teaching and research. Anyone adhering to the terms of this license may use the software. 3. The software distribution will not be passed on to any third parties. Reasonable precautions will be made to prevent unauthorized access. If someone wishes to obtain a copy of the distribution, please have them contact the author. 4. Neither the author or distributor are responsible for the use of the code. No warranty is expressed or implied. All information is subject to change without notice and should not be construed as a commitment by the author or UAB/CMC for further development and support. 5. Any enhancements made by the licensee will be made available to the author. If incorporated into future versions, your work will be acknowledged in the manual. Any bugs will be reported. 6.
